_Fuck the Modern World_ is a compilation of unreleased and live tracks by an assortment of noise and dark ambient artists, with a degree of incest that suggests duelling banjos would be a more appropriate accompaniment than ear destroying cacophony. The compilation opens with a track by Frozen Faces, an act hitherto unfamiliar to me, but which is the side project of Lina Baby Doll, better known for his work as Deutsch Nepal, who also contribute a track. In contrast to Frozen Faces, the Deutsch Nepal track is an ear pleasing sojourn through the realm of folksy ambience. He pops up yet again in Janitor, this time assisted by the unfortunately initialled BJ Nilsen. Nilsen also contributes an ambient track under the Hazard banner, albeit not quite of the same quality as the preceding Deutsch Nepal track. The remaining artists that appear are industrial legends Con-Dom and The Grey wolves, while the local Baltic scene is represented by Latvia's Traur Zot and Lithuanians Wejdas, none of which are wanting for quality. Fuck the Modern World indeed.
