Vinterriket - _Det Svake Lys_

This 7" was recorded between _Gjennon Takete Skogen_ and _Sturme der letze Stille_. _Det Svake Lys_ contains three dark ambient songs pretty much like their first demo. What I appreciate about this demo -- and _GJS_ -- is that Vinterriket doesn't rely on endless monotonous loops to create atmospheric tracks: he (it's a one man band) instils all the songs with considerable variety. After opening with the title song, which is nothing more then a brief intro, they launch into "Nattefrost", a beautifully evocative piece of music. "Zauber Oer Nacht", the third track, is by contrast more ominous and mournful than the preceding track. While not quite as good as _GJS_, _DSL_ it is nevertheless still worth hearing at least once, if you have even the faintest interest in dark ambient soundscapes.
