Yet where their previous album, 2007's _Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize_ came across as hokey and... well, just a little bit shit, _Carnage Euphoria_ finds them laying down the gauntlet with their gory gospel; blasting through ten tracks with admirable fervour and a nose for a catchy riff. "Ripe Cadavers" is a perfect example of what they're capable of when firing on all cylinders; a tune drenched in tradition, executed with such attitude, conviction and belligerence that it will handily tunnel its way into the coldest, most elitist heart. Yup, genre leaders they most certainly aren't, but _Carnage Euphoria_ could undoubtedly be the sleeper hit of 2009.
