Sadistic Gore - _Tools of Monstrosity_
by: Quentin Kalis (3 out of 5)
This six track demo represents the second recording from the Brazilian trio of straightforward and brutal death metal, that is brutal with nary a look at atmospheric intros, keyboards, acoustic guitars or other unnecessary toys for pussies. But they are not too primitive either, and unlike several other death metal demos that have crossed my path this month, they are engaging to such an extent that their rather generic interpretation can be overlooked. Keeping their songs short has aided their cause, as the possibility of boredom never arises. This is not the kind of album to gain a record attention, but is of the kind that will gain limited notoriety amongst underground aficionados. I would seriously recommend that they get another member to play bass or second guitar -- this would be crushing live, and with one member handling both guitar and bass, this would not be possible.
