Despite the name, Vibrator Failure are more closely aligned with death metal than grind, although they retain the latter's obsession with deviant sex. Nowhere is this more apparent than in "Never Underestimate Your Bitch's String, It Might Be Used as a Weapon against Humanity" where the ‘vocals' consist entirely of a woman in the throes of mock sexual ecstasy, presumably from their collective wank bank. This trick is repeated several times, but quickly gets tiring, as the same effect could be achieved by listening to some beloved death CDs whilst indulging in a bout of self-love. The lowbrow tendencies don't end there: "Gun-Barrel Dildo With Discharge Tendencies" starts and ends with a wholly unnecessary belch, but at least it features some vocals. Songs are short, but there's not much one can do with a couple of simple riffs. I can't help but feel that their porno-gore approach is a mask for inchoate ideas that fall short of being actual songs; it's not only a vibrator which is short on power.
