Krepuskule - _Krepuskule_

I asked this question before and I will ask it again: where in the name of Satan do they manage to find angelic feminine voices but nary a soul who possesses both a guitar and a vagina? The constituent members just give their first names and initial, making them sound like a francophone boy-girl-band. (Remi D iz in da house, muddaaafuukkkerss!) C'mon guys, it's not that terrible!

They have managed to find a violinist as well but not a drummer, relying on passable but inadequate programmed drums. The vox tend to be soothing and clear rather than pseudo-operatic (both of which have their place). The strength, as is usually the case for these bands, is the voice; but it is surprisingly muted, in comparison to other instruments, when she should be at the forefront.

As for the music itself, let's just say that when I heard the opening bars, I anticipated a heavenly voiced female. The emergence of a violin was no surprise either. Krepuskule are definitely better than many of the other entrants to the over-saturated female-fronted genre, and they do have a few surprises up their collective sleeve (witness the blasting midway through "Betrayal"). The corollary is that thet are also worse than many others, and I remain unconvinced that they present a sufficiently new take to attract the attention of a highly jaded audience.
