These four tracks do not deviate too far from the genre template, and the influence of the English doom trinity (Anathema, My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost -- but if you needed to be told, you really should be reading something else!) is omnipresent. Still, ArCease endeavour to produce a demo that even if it doesn't knock off the proverbial footwear, is hardly an embarrassment either.

Keys are used, but wisely, usually remaining in the background; and whilst the piano simulation enhances their compositions, I can't really say the same about the synth strings, which sound cheesy and horrible. As do their song titles -- "A Wonderful Love Song This Could Have Been" and "For My Relaxable Puppet" are not the best examples of the genre.

The intro is rather interesting. It could have been the usual key cacophony; instead, it's a brief death excursion, reminiscent of the earliest days of My Dying Bride, although the narrated section could have been excised.

_A Chora for My Tearful Angel_ is a respectable first outing, but ultimately needs a bit of refinement before they can land that elusive record deal.
