What is so unorthodox in the band's sophomore effort, _Sviata_, is the heavy usage of synthesizers that lends the album the characteristics of folk music and at the same time makes it sound like the cinematic score for a horror movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. Fusing these sentiments -- with the backbone of a vitriolic guitar sound and some black metal idiosyncratic rasps -- the outcome sounds like something coming out of the loudspeakers of a demented amusement park, where scary, sharp-teethed clowns and other otherworldly creatures roam.

Played mostly slow to mid-paced, the velocity and rhythm (as well as the general music's etiquette) are very punk-rock oriented, and even -- dare I say -- fun, like a less serious version of Lifelover, if you will.

Readily digestible and at some parts beautiful beyond belief, _Sviata_ will reward both fanatic purists as well as open-minded adventurers of finely tailored left field esoterica, where the magic of music, the ferociousness of black metal and the boldness of experimentalism, all blend into one hell of a nightmarish lullaby; gentle, full of nuances, fronted by celestial keyboards craftsmanship and energized by a punk-rock attitude -- that's what _Sviata_ is all about. Fuck the grim faces of black metal, this is fun incarnate!
