_Synchronicity_ kicks off its forty-nine minutes of good old German thrashin' with the strong up-tempo number "Fallen From Grace". The band's penchant for grooves and intermittent snare patterns that accompany them peers its head more than once, like on "Hell Remains" and "Intensify My Fear"; although I found the verse riff a little redundant on the latter. But fear not, your unquenchable thirst for violent and aggressive pieces will be interested to listen to "In Silence" and the epic, ten minute long title track which covers a wide range of ideas and arrangements, quite similar to the title track from the previous album.

Other cuts like "State of the Art", "Falling Off the Edge of the World" and "Agony of Sickness" have some interesting tunes, but the structure used for them is not much of a surprise, which could get a little tedious after repeated listens. Then comes the ending track "Control Denied" which takes some time to grip one's attention until that last bit comes up after more than three minutes but what a great way to end the album; it's such a memorable melody.

So in short, this consistent group of Germans is back with another above average thrash record. And even though it didn't give me enough to favor it over its predecessor, that doesn't really make _Synchronicity_ a weak album when one considers the prevailing level of creativity that's being presented in modern thrash metal these days. Oh, I almost forgot: I usually don't get too worked up about this, but it wouldn't hurt to mention, this vocalist is not a man, it's a woman named Daniela Karrer. Prost!
