If decent music approximates a monolith of angry buzzing, like a hornet's nest after a good wallop, continue reading. If you're one of our more discerning readers, continue onto the next review. The recording quality is abysmal and variable -- the ambient tone of the first track is so soft, that you are forced to turn up the volume, only to have your senses assaulted when the noise kicks in. The second (and thankfully, last) track is more lucid, but clearly a hasty basement job. Both tracks are around 25 minutes, mostly superfluous repetition that could easily be edited out, without affecting the creation of a certain atmosphere. Vocals range between soft, supposedly ominous whispers and distorted shrieks, all in the background, with ambient drones strongly in the foreground and bass guitar reduced to a frenetic, repetitive buzz. Drums are also present -- programmed, obviously, and like everything else reduced to a murky mess. There are no redeeming features; it's monotonous, insultingly simple, badly produced and overlong. If you're interested in exploring so-called black ambient, stick with MZ.412. At least they sound like they're making an effort.
