Vulcano are apparently the first extreme Brazilian band, and their 1986 album, _Bloody Vengeance_, is a classic just as much as _INRI_ or _Schizophrenia_. Initially recorded in 2004 after a fourteen year hiatus, I Hate Records has made this available outside South America for the first time. Not that it makes any difference which year it was released, as they are completely oblivious to any musical developments since, oh, 1985. Time has not been kind to Vulcano however: this lacks the vibrancy of earlier classics, and the songs have much of a sameness about them. This is borne out by the re-recordings of "Guerreiros de Satã" and "Total Destruição", previously available only _Live! _, which are the most energetic, vibrant and fist-waving songs on this album. Fenriz would have an orgasm over this "true black cult" stuff, but those interested in Vulcano would be advised to have a peek at their earlier and superior albums, rather than this disappointing comeback.
