No Hawaii - _Bruce Lee in Your Brain_
(Independent, 2007)

Breach, Tool, King Crimson, Mars Volta, Neurosis, Kyuss, Can, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, et cetera. These are allegedly No Hawaii's influences, according to their MySpace page (temporary homepage as well). But wait! No Hawaii is much more: No Hawaii's music verges on the insane at times; erratic, chaotic and at times sublime, No Hawaii's _Bruce Lee in Your Brain_ is as wacky as the title suggests. Unpredictable, wrapped (post) hardcore, wildly loose and liquid, heavy on many an influence from here to Timbuktu and almost impossible to pigeonhole. But who needs to pigeonhole such a wonderful, at times almost purposely amteurish recording, anyway? _Bruce Lee in Your Brain_ will surely appeal to a variety of music lovers, from the heaviness purveyors to the avantgarde types. This brand of progressive hardcore-ish chameleon is something to behold. Recommended!
