Excluding any comparisons, this album is a decent beginner's guide to doom/death (although the fast, occasional drums ruin the overall dynamics of the songs in which they appear) of the more melodic and less vitriolic kind; this album is listener-friendly and it demands no challenge, nor does it set any new standards in this subgenre or altogether. _Beyond Redemption_ indeed reeks of older (and maybe better?) times, with its old school-ish inclination, but that fact alone does not validate said album as a quality musical product. Kudos for the musicians, at least for self-releasing such a professional product through and through. Unfortunately, this reviewer is enthusiastic about the musical contents of this album to a much lesser extent.
