Impiety - _Dominator EP_
(Pulverised, 2008)
by: Jeremy Ulrey (7.5 out of 10)
Fresh off a well deserved best of compilation (Pulverised's _18 Atomic Years Satanniversary_) earlier this year, Singapore's Impiety regroup with a fifteen minute EP long on inspiration if short on running time. Dabbling in equal parts old-school thrash, mid-period death and timeless black metal, _Dominator_ overclocks the energy into quantum levels, spewing Christ baiting battle anthems to the (blast) beat of their own drummer... who honestly sounds a lot like other individualist skinsmen, but who's keeping score here? There will always be a market for sincerely orchestrated sado-thrash to beat each other senseless by, with none more convincing an example than the band's relentless take on Sarcofago chestnut "The Black Vomit". And with seminally brilliant song titles like "Slaughterror Superiority", Impiety take themselves and their message extremely seriously so you don't have to.
