Black Succubi - _Black Succubi_
(Independent, 2008)
by: Quentin Kalis (5.5 out of 10)
After releasing a two track promo to stimulate interest in 2007, Black Succubi have now unleashed their debut full-length, which includes both promo songs. Members from a number of Danish notables including Crafted and Iron Fire can be found in their ranks, which would justify a certain level of quality, several steps above a couple of young adults thrashing out their debut, but this was not to be. The main problem is that despite a few memorable melodies on "Troubled Times", "Blood and Flames" and a few others, _Black Succubi_ simply lacks the necessary spark, having as much life as a limp dick. The vocalist does his best with to rescue the album with his competent power metal styled voice, but fails to generate any lasting interest in any song. There are a few catchy moments, but too few for it to be worth a second glance.
