Leachim - _In Limitless Hate_
(Inner Voice Records, 2007)
by: Quentin Kalis (1 out of 10)
I know that this is intended as a "rehearsal demo" or some such, and whilst that may be worthwhile in the case of a polished and accomplished band such as, say, Dimmu Borgir, it lacks the same impact when performed by an already cacophonic black metal project still in the embryonic stages of their career. The recording quality is of the level one has come to expect from a tape deck in the basement, the drums are too high in the mix, the performance sloppy with few redeeming merits -- one would be hard-pressed to point to a difference between this and an arbitrary posse of disaffected teens jamming in the garage. I cannot say whether Leachim have recorded anything else that would be an improvement over this, but that won't be too hard to accomplish.
