_Way of Blind_ is a considerably more developed and intriguing album -- no surprise there, the melodic blackened death a far cry from these odes of death tinged doom. The use of a violin immediately signposts My Dying Bride as an influence, although this could just as easily be discerned from the doomy chord progressions. However, they have a grittier sound than many other floating around in the romantic death/doom periphery, barely alleviated by the remastering treatment. The use of a violin provides a mournful edge to their music, but the synths are cheesy and detract from the atmosphere they are attempting to create.

Anyone vaguely acquainted with the sub-genre of romanticised death-tinged doom of the 1990s, and more specifically the legendary British trio, will not be surprised at anything this has to offer. The greater surprise is why this was deemed as a suitable candidate for the re-release treatment. Perhaps Russian doom was as scarce as a female guitarist ten years ago, but the scene has developed since then, and recent works by Arcanar and Amber Tears leave this in the pale.
