The difference between this and the extreme fringes of metal is not limited to sounds, but also the mood cultivated, which is laid-back, bordering on soothing. Their multi-layered approach might explain why they have yet to produce a full-length, although this four track EP does contain an acceptable 26 minutes of music.

The guitars retain sufficient bite, at least some of the time, to justify the metal tag, whilst their unabashed proggy tendencies will have all fans of guitar onanism climaxing in their pants. The vocalist has a lovely voice, but the helium toned voice does grate on occasion. English is not her first language, and the accent comes through at times, but is pleasing to the ear and not problematic. However, she does place the accent on the wrong syllable at times. Nonetheless, her voice remains an asset for this band.

The combination of off-kilter rhythms, heavenly female vox and unpredictable evolution will not be to everyone's taste, but they are sure to find a ready market in the West.
