Considering the many derogatory metaphors it potentially opens itself up to, The Devil Wears Prada probably didn't do themselves any favours when they agreed upon their unfortunate moniker. Still, as their bio proudly states, they did manage to shift an impressive number of units with their debut in 2006, the trifecta of their achievements being over 6.3 million plays and nearly 135,000 friends on MySpace. Eschewing for a moment the obvious urge to liken them to the tale of the emperor's new clothes, it is telling that a band who really should fall comfortably into the dime-a-dozen category could carve out such a following simply by going after the legion of porn-addicted fourteen year olds currently powering the Internet trend that's sweeping the nation. For the very obvious reality is that The Devil Wears Prada's "technical metal and hardcore with melodic overtones" really is painfully ordinary, and no one could rightfully be blamed if by the time they've reached the aptly titled "You Can't Spell Crap Without 'C'", they're dangerously close to nodding off.
