Lietterschpich - _I Cum Blood in the Think Tank_
(Topheth Prophet / Heart and Crossbone Records, 2007)

I thought the title was bad enough, but that it is outdone by the band name, which is apparently Hebrew for "litre of cum". Charming. Despite the name, this is not grindcore, but an album of power electronics / death industrial -- not that it is any more likely to be found in the mall music stores of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv! Apparently they are one of the premier entities to be spewed forth by the Israeli noise scene. (Don't scoff; their homeland may only be the size of a game park, but possesses potent post-industrial and metal scenes.) The constituent members have performed in many bands, including Barbara, Poochlatz, Grave in the Sky and Vultures.

Clearly not in a band to score women, Lietterschpich ejaculate eleven songs of chaotic power electronics replete with distorted vocals. The presence of drums provides a rhythmic structure at times, however tenuous it may sound to the uninitiated.

"D. Opp" (David Opp of Barbara fame) is behind the drum kit, and has proved his competence on a number of occasions, whilst the vocal duties are handled by Zaz Bendoom (Vultures, Poochlatz). The manipulation, distortion and other effects render it near impossible to effectively evaluate his vocals, but he does appear to have a suitably metallic throat-searing style. Opp is also the sole member to perform a "real" instrument: the remaining five members fiddle with assorting digital gizmos, creating a highly abrasive project which is as digestible as the various "food" on "Fear Factor". Not that they are as harsh as Merzbow or Fire in the Head, but remain a reasonably unique entity.
