The production is clear, amongst the most lucid in black metal, but without the gloss of a Dimmu Borgir. Unfortunately and paradoxically, it results in the guitar sounding a bit thin, thus diluting an otherwise inherent ferociousness. Better than having it too muddy, I guess, but with just a bit of extra tweaking, the sound could be just that more potent. They also have an unfortunate tendency to use an excellent artwork by Gustave Doré, only to splatter an extravagant band logo across it!

It's certainly a bit different from the Darkklones that dominate these days, and it's good enough to get further listens from me. But then again, I am a fan of this type of music, and perhaps those less enamoured with the genre may not feel the same way. Regardless, one listen will not go amiss.
