Performing death metal with both old-school and technical elements, Ajdath weave a sonic tapestry that also borrows from thrash. They incorporate some subtle and understated Arabic melodies as well, which come to the fore on an obligatory calm instrumental, "Before the War". The drums sound particularly murky and would have benefited from increased clarity, but the guitars and vox possess sufficient venom to ensure a place in the limited, but growing, Mideast metal pantheon -- as well as a place in the CD racks of all with a love for unforgiving death metal.
