They seem to have an unhealthy obsession with excretion: the band consists of Vulgar Anal Inhalator (vox, guitar), Anal Intruder (drums) and Anal Inspector (bass). The odd one out is Denat Masturbator, who is credited with "visual", whatever that may be, and in light of the band names, I'm not sure I want to know.

Thanathron provide a dose of raw black metal. The guitar is considerably rawer and looser on the last two tracks -- whether this is because these are rough mixes or a shift in sound is unknown, but makes no difference either way, as Thanathron stick resolutely to the template of the preceding five songs. A rather average contribution by a band that does not perform a particularly good interpretation of an established style, nor do they add anything new.

Empheris' contribution was recorded at various times and places. Three tracks are taken from their 2006 demo _Flamethorns_, the intro was recorded two months later and filled out with a live track, a rehearsal and an advance track from their upcoming CD. The title track features a rather unusual mix of Beherit proto-black metal and Vreid style black 'n' roll! This is presumably due to the Venom influence: they also include a passable cover of "Lady Lust".

The other demo track consists of a less eclectic black metal song, whose tightly packed yet melodic riffs form a more coherent number. The advance track is in a similar vein, but with a more subdued rock influence, suggesting that this is their intended direction, and with sufficient promise for their upcoming CD to be worth a listen. The rehearsal is raw, but crap, whilst the live track is great if your hard drive is full of poor quality MP3 bootleg rips. Seven songs; two good, one OK, remainder rubbish. Do the math.
