This is already the fourth re-release of this album, having been re-released in limited editions by a number of other labels -- including Nebelfee Klangwerke, headed by the brother of the infamous Mobus, former member of Absurd. The connection is not surprising, given Fornost's occasional venture into punkish territory and veneration of Varg Vikernes. The sheer number of re-releases suggests that there is a market for their brand of NSBM, although I can't understand why; some songs are entertaining, but more often than not it is simply derivative. The most obvious examples are "Birkenwald", which sounds like a shameless rip-of of Ulver's _Kveldssanger_, right down to the use of Garm's practically patented chants, and "Bustum", which with its minimalist key tinkling is reminiscent of Burzum. Depending on your perspective, this is either a tribute or a shameless rip -- although the latter option might seem redundant given that they are probably best known for their contribution to the Burzum tribute _Visions_. Overall, a vastly overrated and highly derivative album.
