Laurynas Jukonis (who is perhaps better known for his work under the moniker of Girnu Giesmes) turns his penchant for electronic minimalism away from rhythmic industrial towards the field of dark ambient. Despite his stripped down approach, the songs are quite varied in comparison to each other, although internally they do run the very real risk of becoming monotonous and consequently inducing boredom in the listener. This possibility is countered for the most part by not allowing any of the numbers to overstay their welcome. My personal favourite is "Gerves palieka siarus namus", which starts with the sound of wind blowing before being overridden by a drone, which is accompanied by a soft folksy melody; it is then overwhelmed by mind-warping effects, and is best appreciated through headphones. Also recommended is the tiltle track, whose hypnotic piano is another highlight. Overall, this is a pleasing enough romp through the fields of minmalist ambience.
