Prometheus boldly proclaim their goal is to obtain the backing of a label for the promotion and distribution of their independently produced full-length -- not to seek assistance for recording a sophomore effort. I guess it can only be a positive when a band exudes such confidence in their own work, but the true question is of course whether such confidence is justified; and in Prometheus' case, it is to a certain extent. Not so with regard to the lyrical concept, which concerns a scientist who foresees an alien invasion and gathers believers to escape the coming invasion on a spaceship. (I'm guessing the lyrics were written by the male members of the band.) Even the band themselves readily admit this does not rank highly on the originality scale.

To their credit, they fare far better with regard to the vocals and musicianship. Prometheus are yet another female-fronted band, and like most of their peers, Sharon is an able singer. The music tends towards a powerful and dramatic form of heavy metal that is particularly noticeable on tracks such as "Rodent Speech" and "Vortex Virus", which progress towards explosive choruses. A change of pace is reflected on "Loneliness (2135 A.D.)", which is essentially a ballad but still a beautiful song. To conclude, this is a respectable, well-rounded effort from Prometheus.
