The trouble however, remains Mnemic's bantam sense of dynamics. While tossing together the best bits from Meshuggah, Fear Factory and The Haunted's respective discographies into one corrosive mix may sound like a good idea on paper, it amounts to meaningless caterwauling when said influences are simultaneously jostling for position on a virtually homogenous basis.

Make no mistake: when the formula works, as it does spectacularly on "Pigfuck" and "Electronic ID Conspiracy", it can stun a water buffalo at forty paces. But for the time being, Mnemic's quest for cyber thrash nirvana looks set to take them at least another album.
