After the obligatory creepy introduction (with a particularly nasty tooth-drilling sound), "Carnal Affection" begins heavy and straight to the point. The musicianship is competent, but the drumming leaves something to be desired. I like the bass lines in "Experiment With You", but I would have liked the guitars to be a bit more adventurous. "Mutant" attempts to add some thrashy elements with good results, while "Supporting the Chaos and Hate" offers some grind-like vocals.

There is nothing particularly wrong with this release, except for the fact that it does not grab you by the proverbial ear to pull you in for another listen. It is, in a sense, formulaic and rather blunt. Death metal fans will probably like it, but anyone else -- and certainly the ones amongst you who like a pinch of innovation with your metal -- will most likely let it slip by.
