Morgue Supplier - _The End of the World_
(Independent, 2006)
by: Quentin Kalis (6 out of 10)
Morgue Supplier are representatives of the take-no-prisoners school of grindcore -- not that this need be stated; the combination of the band logo and a CD containing three songs with a total playing time of under eight minutes would have informed the relatively unlearned listener of their intentions.Despite the paucity of minutes, their relentless blasting does get tiring pretty quickly. The vocals are best described as businesslike: no frills shrieks and grunts that do not particularly stand out but nonetheless get the job done, and the same can be said of their musical capabilities. The lyrics are extremely angry and hate filled and suggest that they are directed at a particular, unnamed target -- preferable to the cartoonish gore that infests the genre. This might find a market with the core grindcore fanbase, but others may want a little more than a few riffs and ceaseless blasting.
