Hate - _Anaclasis: A Haunting Gospel of Malice & Hatred_
(Listenable Records, 2005)

While I cannot lay claim to any familiarity to this ruthless Polish trio much before _Cain's Way_, released on the Blackened label in 2002, their history is long and distinguished. Hate traces its illustrious career back to the _Abhorrence_ release in 1992. Following that, _EvilArt_ and _The Unwritten Law_ followed in back to back years -- 1994 and 1995. After a few offerings -- the _Deamon Qui Fecit Terram_ MCD and a double demo disc entitled _Evil Decade of Hate_ -- the year 2000 saw Hate signed to Blackened with _Holy Dead Trinity_. After _Cain's Way_, the more notable _Awakening the Liar_ surfaced in 2003 on French label Listenable Records. Now, after the DVD entitled _The Litanies of Satan_, 2005 brings forward the blastingly extreme _Anaclasis: A Haunting Gospel of Malice & Hatred_.

If you are impaired in some way, in case you didn't pick up on the less-than-subtle anti-Christian stance from the aforementioned albums, Hate's sincere inclination for the immoral turpitude in life is as evident as ever. Coming in at just a shade over thirty-six minutes in length, Adam the First Sinner (as if you needed more evidence of their rogue Mephistophelian penchant), Hellrizer and Cyprian spew forth eight more cuts of mostly scorching death metal with seldom a diversion from the resultant brutality on _Anaclasis_.

While a hint of technical melody and emphatically downtuned style presents itself on the release, _Anaclasis_ is acceptable in the way that one wouldn't expect Green Jelly to blaze forward into formerly uncharted musical territory. As Death's Chuck Schuldiner (RIP) found the genre mostly confining, yet Hate embraces the style's repressiveness like a miser would his riches.

Hate's website is quite detailed and _Anaclasis_'s cover art fairly exceptional. Fans partial to the metronome set at hyper-intense levels and those akin to the Deicide / Vader blueprint, Hate's newest release will fall right in step. _Anaclasis_ is solid, but in a Soilwork _Natural Born Chaos_ boilerplate kinda way. Given the experience of this outfit, there needed to be just something more.
