In Tormentata Quiete - _In Tormentata Quiete_
(Dawn of Sadness, 2005)
by: Pedro Azevedo (2 out of 10)
Symphonic, gothic, somewhat medieval blackened metal sung in Italian, anyone? What if I add vocals that sound like a poor version of Dani Filth, plus mediocre clean singing and unremarkable female vocals? No takers? While the musicianship is generally acceptable on this release, the songwriting does very little to help lift this album off its sub-Cradle of Filth mire (the screaming at the end of "Phato Varva" is almost too cringeworthy to be believed). _In Tormentata Quiete_ is not without some intensity at times, nor without some attempts at something different and keeping things varied; but try as I might to find any redeeming qualities, they are sorely lacking in this release.
