Norwegian party people Turbonegro have been around since the '90s and already survived one break-up. Their albums have never brought anything substantial to this world, yet the band seems to have attracted quite a cult following over their existence. It's easy to hear where Turbonegro has digged for inspiration: _Party Animals_, not unlike their previous albums, is chock-full of references to '70/'80s glam. But where their idols like Alice Cooper and Motley Crue tried to build up a 'dangerous' image and submersed themselves in machismo, Turbonegro is quite different. As close as they can get to being the Village People of glam-punk, they manage to make singalongs out of songs titled "City of Satan" and "Death From Above" -- and sing "Blow Me" without a trace of shame or irony. Fans of the previous albums will undoubtedly like _Party Animals_, as there hasn't been much change musically. Whether this band will ever appeal to the more hardcore following of bands like Backyard Babies and Hellacopters remains to be seen.
