Abused Majesty are technically proficient, seem quite enthusiastic, and mix enough elements into their music as to avoid sounding quite like anyone else in particular without coming across as innovative either. Although the final result is different, this combination reminds me most of their compatriots in Lost Soul. The music is similarly fast paced most of the time, with a lot going on in the guitar department and equally busy drumming. A very understated keyboard is used throughout, and only becomes more prominent on some instrumental breaks and a couple of simple but nicely integrated piano lines. Helped by a very competent production job, Abused Majesty's hybrid of melodic black and death metal is quite dynamic and engaging, and while they don't break any new ground, _Serpenthrone_ is a damn pleasant listen.
