CoC : Sabaton - Primo Victoria : Review

A few months ago, I happened to watch a fascinating documentary on the infamous Rob Reiner parody "This Is Spinal Tap", and during a particular scene the cast and crew reminisced with a glint in their eyes that at the time of the movie's release, there were members of the public who were convinced that they were seeing a serious film based on a real life heavy metal outfit. Well, if _Primo Victoria_ is anything to gauge by, it would appear as though the phenomenon is not entirely extinct. Not only that, but apparently Sabaton enjoyed songs like "Stonehenge" and "Rock 'n' Roll Creation" so much that they decided to turn their own amps up to eleven and continue the oafish traditions of "England's loudest band". Trouble is that without Christopher Guest discussing the melancholy virtues of the D-Minor chord, it's neither funny nor entertaining. And with a hint of Manowar's pomp adding to the absurdity, Sabaton are a band who one would be well served to avoid at all costs.
