Fantasy masters Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman have nothing on the imagination displayed on _Power of the Dragonflame_. They say those suffering from paranoia are able to manufacture extremely detailed and elaborate worlds in their own mind. While I doubt any one of these four metal champions suffer from delusions, their mystical universe is no less intricate. The highly vivid album covers of Rhapsody's very impressive back catalog give the listener a stark visual impression even before the first spin of their CD. As the tracks on this newest effort unfold like chapters in a lengthy tome, _PotD_ tells a magical tale with orchestral arrangements placed impressively in the middle of clean vocals and dominating guitars. This is an overtly spectacular ride laced with a Herculean keyboard edge and well-timed breaks in the fanciful onslaught. In simple terms, Rhapsody is Dragonlance set to operatic metal. Their website is something you might want to take a look at as well; it is certainly as involved as their style of metal. Set free the unicorn, take up your sword and prepare yourselves!
