While I was a sucker for the industrialized/electronic flow that Peter Tagtgren presented us a few years back with Pain's self-titled disc on Nuclear Blast, his latest release on Universal (a major record label) is coated with a much more commercial sound. Not to say that Peter T. sold out, he didn't, I am just missing the dark, depressing vibe that came along with the self-titled disc. While still dark in every aspect (just look at the song titles), it seems as though Peter T. wants to hit a crossover market. Who can blame him? He is talented and the world should know this, right? Even if I hated this, I don't think Peter T. gives a fuck. He's exploring his musical creativity and I guess we should all be proud of that.
