Lahmia - _Forget Every Sunrise_

Romans Lahmia have shifted away from the thrash / goth of their previous demo towards a distinctly Swedish style of death metal. Vestigial remnants of their earlier sound emerge on this, their sophomore recording, through occasional darkened passages, but they are at their catchy best with more up-tempo songs. They exhibit little expansion on this well-known (and much maligned) sound, but they do it solidly with infectious melodies and competent musicianship, and both the recording and cover artwork are professional. The net combination is a release by a band serious about their art and serious about developing their art, and bodes well for their future endeavours.
