Pressure Point - _Grasp_
by: Adrian Bromley (2 out of 5)
Focusing heavily on the hardcore aspect to their music, hardcore/metal outfit Pressure Point work hard to deliver some solid grooves and momentum around their true life experience lyrics. I see this band as a second rate Merauder, Vision of Disorder, or Turmoil with their hard-edged guitar riffs and proficient use of hardcore ideals in their music, all stapled together into a mediocre hardcore/metal packaging. Though the lyrics are (I'm assuming) from life experiences, they sound cheesy and somewhat cliche at times and that also takes away from what maybe the band was aiming for. Also, the music lacks any real kind of zip, rarely breaking any kind of heavy groove with what they have on this 4-song demo. Anyway, Pressure Point is a band that has followed the right steps into becoming a hardcore/metal act, but finally has come to the day in their lives where they either stay as they are (and be like everyone else), or branch out and make a name for themselves. We'll see.
