Infinite Hatred - _Hateful Spell_
(Nerbilous / Kerzakraum, 2006)

Infinite Hatred is possibly the first band I have heard from South Korea; the solo project of one Helnakstav, who is also responsible for Qrujhuk. Although this was recorded several years ago, as far as I can tell it had never been released previously, and has naturally been remastered. Although Infinite Hatred do not push the proverbial envelope in their untamed black metal sojourn, they do manage to create and sustain a unique voice -- one that was carried over practically verbatim to Qrujhuk.

The resonant and catchy riffs draw the listener in with their mesmerizing repetitiveness, and whilst it sounds like a drum machine has been used, I am able to overlook its presence. The vocals are the standard and unremarkable black metal screech. Unlike Qrujhuk, it sounds as if some attempt has been made to tune the bass. If I had to compare the two however, I would say that say that Qrujhuk is marginally superior.
